Calderwood of 1795 Madison Avenue, died very suddenly in the Altoona hospital. Mr. Calderwood became ill last Wednesday with a complication of diseases and on Friday was taken to the hospital where he gradually grew worse until he slipped out of this life early today. George William Calderwood was a son of Leonard Franklin and Lucinda (Rhodes) Calderwood. He was born in Tyrone, July 29, 1893, and resided here all his life. In 1913 in Tyrone, he was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Brisbin, who with these children survive to mourn his passing: Lawrence Leonard, Leonard Franklin, George William, Jr., Dorothy May and Robert Samuel. The parents also survive. Mr. Calderwood had been employed as a clerk in the Train Dispatchers Office, Altoona, Pa. He was a young man of excellent character and was held in high esteem by his office associates and large circle of friends. He was a member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Church and the P.R.R. Relief Association. Funeral services will be held at the home on Madison Avenue on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Reverend Samuel W. Strain, pastor of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Church; assisted by Reverend John E. Beard of Altoona, and George A. Duvall, of Bedford. Interment in Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone.
