Calderwood, a life long resident of this vicinity, employed by West Virginia Pulp and paper company for 54 years, and residing at 1757 Madison Avenue, died in the Altoona Hospital on Thursday night at 8:22 o'clock following an extended illness. Mr. Calderwood was born on November 6, 1866, at Bald Eagle, the son of George and Edith (Merryman) Calderwood. On June 24, 1891, at Tyrone, he was married to Miss Lucinda Rhoades. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Edith Lannen, of Tyrone; five grandchildren: Lawrence, Leonard, George, Dorothy and Robert S. Calderwood, all of Tyrone. Two children preceded the father in death. Mr. Calderwood was a Methodist by faith and was a member of Tyrone Loyal Order Of Moose, #25. He had been employed in the Tyrone mill of the Virginia Pulp and Paper company for 54 years. Funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Reverend Dennis Smith, pastor of the Columbia Avenue Methodist church followed by burial in Grandview cemetery.
