MARY CATHERINE CALDERWOOD Of Ironsville, died at 7 o'clock Saturday evening in the Philipsburg State hospital. She was born on Jan. 10, 1880, at Spruce Creek, a daughter of James and Jane (Simpson) Updike. Her husband, Benjamin Calderwood, died in 1900. Surviving are eight sons and daughters, James, Harriet and Ann, at home, Mrs. Samuel McFalls, of Ironsville; Robert Calderwood and Mrs. Charles T. Miller, of Tyrone, Paul, of Orchard Crossing and Mrs. Roy Zeek, of Birmingham; twelve grandchildren and one brother and three sisters, Walter Updike, Mrs. Charles Hiney and Mrs. Roy Irvin, all of Tyrone, and Miss Gertrude Updike of Plummer's Hollow. Mrs. Calderwood was a member of the Ironsville Methodist church and the Ladies' auxiliary to the B. of R.T. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Monday, July 17, 1939
