At the Mercy hospital, Altoona, Mrs. Rebecca E. Caldwell, widow of L. C. Caldwell, of Tyrone, died at 1.35 o'clock Monday afternoon, following a long illness. Death was due to senility and she was aged 80 years and was born in Centre county. Since the death of her husband a number of years ago, Mrs. Caldwell had resided with her son, Samuel Horace, of Antis township, who survives with another son, John R. Caldwell, of Toledo, Ia. Jail Warden John Riddle is a nephew of the deceased. She was widely known, highly esteemed and was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian church of Tyrone. Monday the remains were prepared for burial by Funeral Directors Lafferty & Tobias, Altoona, and will be bought to Tyrone, where services were held at 2.30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the First Presbyterian church, followed by interment in Grand View cemetery.
