At 7 o'clock yesterday morning Mrs. Cornelia M., wife of John M. Campbell, Esq., of this city, passed away from a life of intense suffering to a better one beyond the skies, aged 51 years, 6 months and 9 days. Mrs. Campbell had been afflicted with cancer, which spread itself all through her system, giving her untold suffering, all of which she bore with remarkable Christian patience and fortitude. In fact it was a mystery to her friends how she lived through the past six months, so great was her bodily pain and the severity of the destroying disease. She was born in Schellsburg, Bedford county, July 29, 1828, and was a sister of Rev. A. B. Clark, first pastor of the First Presbyterian church, of this city, now dead; of Rev. John H. Clark, who was formerly pastor of the Tyrone Presbyterian church, also dead; and Hon. Rush Clark, late member of Congress from the Fifth Iowa District, a eulogy of whom was printed in the TRIBUNE last week. Mrs. Dr. Ely, of Schellsburg, the eldest of the family, who was with Mrs. Campbell in her last moments; Mrs. William Clark, of the same place; and Mr. George Clark, of Iowa City, are the only survivors of seven brothers and two sisters. Her funeral will take place from the Second Presbyterian church on Tuesday afternoon, February 10. Services to commence at 2 o'clock, to be conducted by Rev. S. M. Duffield, assisted by Rev. William J. Chichester, former pastor. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, February 9, 1880
