He was born at Newton Hamilton, April 8, 1876, a son of Peter and Martha (Irvin) Campbell, and retired June 30, 1941, as a brakeman on the Middle division where he was known as Yardy. Mr. Campbell was a member of the B. of R.T., the Moose and the Knights of Malta. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lila (Smith) Campbell; one son, Rev. Randall Campbell of Selma, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Velma Mock of Altoona; six grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. D. E. McCormick of Irwin, G. E. of Earlville, Ill., and L. E. Campbell of Altoona. Friends will be received at the Myers funeral home after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening. Altoona Mirror, July 21, 1952
