(CULP) - 1996 J. Fred Campbell J. Fred Campbell, 86, of Stover, Tyrone R. D. 4, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1991, at 5 a.m. at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 27, 1905, at Tyrone, a son of John B. and Drucilla (Waite) Campbell. On Oct. 15, 1938, at Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church, Altoona, he was married to Margaret L. Culp. He is survived by his wife, three sons, John B. Campbell of Lancaster, and James F. Campbell and Richard H. Campbell, both of Tyrone R. D. 4, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Richard W. Campbell and Margaret Millard. He was a member of Wesley Untied Methodist Church, where he had been a member of the administrative board for a number of years. He had been a director of the Huntingdon Fair Association for 50 years, a director of the Pennsylvania Horse and Mule Association for 40 years, and had been associated with the Pennsylvania Farm Show, Harrisburg, for more than 70 years. In 1987, he was the first recipient of the Pioneer Farmer Award in the State of Pennsylvania presented by Gov. Thornburgh. He was a member of several local community horsemen's clubs and a judge at many state and 4-H horse shows. He was a past president and 20-year member of the Huntingdon County Extension association. He retired in 1962 as a self-employed general farmer in Warriors mark Township. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, Logan Avenue and 12th Street, Tyrone, with the Rev. Dr. Samuel T. Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone, at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, today from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial gifts may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or to Community Nursing Service, 1055 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, Pa. 16686. _____ Margaret L. (Culp) Campbell Margaret L. Campbell, 86, of Tyrone RD 4, died Thursday, July 25, 1996, at the Altoona Hospital. She was born march 7, 1910, in Altoona, a daughter of Hayes W. and Margaret (Crawford) Culp. On Oct. 15, 1938, in Altoona, she married J. Fred Campbell. He died Dec. 28, 1991. Surviving are three sons: John F., Lancaster; James F. and Richard H., both of Tyrone. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family being preceded in death by two brothers. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone, where she was a member of the Women's Society. She was also a member of the Tyrone Service League and the Tyrone Questors Assoc. She was a graduate of Grove City College in 1932 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. She retired in 1973 from the Tyrone Area School District as a business teacher following 17 years of service. She also taught business education at Etna High School, Etna, Pa for six years. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 28 at 4 p.m. at the Feller memorial Home with Rev. Charles A. Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller memorial Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
