At the time of Miss Bessie's sickness, which was only of short duration, her sister - Miss Bertha - was confined to her bed; suffering from the dame dread disease, which weakening, and at last carried to her elder sister. The death of Miss Bessie caused the patient sufferer to give up all hope of ever recovering, and this morning, at a few minutes before 6 o'clock, she passed peacefully to her rest. The deceased was born in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, where she resided until a couple of years ago, when her parents moved to Johnstown, Mr. Cann, who is connected with the Penn Traffic Company stores, having been transferred to this city. While living here the young ladies did not enjoy good health, being afflicted shortly after taking up their residence in the city with lung trouble, and this, in a short time developed into consumption. Both young ladies were well liked and had, during their short stay in the city, made a number of friends, who now mourn their untimely death. Both had been brought up in the Methodist Church. One sister, miss Stella - and her parents survive. The funeral of Miss Bertha will take place on Saturday. Religious services will be held at the home of her parents, on maple Avenue, about 11 o'clock, after which the remains will be taken to the Pennsylvania Railroad Station, to be conveyed to Hollidaysburg, where services will be held in the afternoon. They will then be laid to rest beside those of her sister, in the Lutheran Cemetery at that place. The Daily Tribune, Johnstown, Pa., July 26, 1894
