TYRONE TOPICS.

  The remains of Alfred Caraher, who died at Houtzdale Monday 
afternoon, were brought to this station yesterday forenoon on Tyrone 
and Clearfield express, and in the afternoon were taken to Bald Eagle 
Furnace for interment in the Union cemetery at that place.  Rev. B. B. 
Hamlin, D.D., accompanied the remains as officiating minister.  The 
deceased was upwards of 70 years of age, and for many years was a 
resident of Tyrone, prior to his removal to Houtzdale some years ago.
