(Bowers) Carey of 921 Twenty-fifth avenue, widow of John J. Carey, died at the Altoona hospital this morning at 2.45 o'clock. Mrs. Carey, daughter of John and Wilhelmina (Mongold) Bowers, was born in Altoona on April 29, 1866, and was married to Mr. Carey on Nov. 15, 1888, at St. John's church (now the cathedral) by Rev. Father Sheehan. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1939. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Helen F. Miller of Huntingdon, Mrs. Wilhelmina Williams of Turtle Creek, Pa., Mrs. Rosella J. Williams, Mrs. Florence Griffith and Daniel D. of this city; seven grandchildren, a brother, David S. Bowers of Huntingdon; a half-brother, Albert Bowers of Martinsburg, and a half-sister, Mrs. Emma B. Humm of this city. Mrs. Carey was a lifelong resident of Fairview. Mr. and Mrs. Carey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1938. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic church and the Altar and Rosary society. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. CAREY - Funeral services for Mrs. Annie F. (Bowers) Carey of 921 Twenty-fifth avenue, will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Therese Catholic church. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
