Luke Carl, of 1908 Thirteenth street, died yesterday morning at 7 o'clock at his home, following a stroke of apoplexy. He had been in poor health for some time back. He was born in St. Augustine, Cambria county, June 5, 1854, and was employed by the P.R.R. in the tank shop for a number of years. He was married forty years ago and was a member of St. Leo's Catholic church. Seven children survive, as follows: Paul, of Detroit, Mich.; Margaret, Bernard and Louis, at home; Mrs. Agnes Chirdon, Mrs. Lucy Airhart and James, of this city. Surviving, also, are these brothers and sisters: John, of St. Augustine; Frank, Mrs. Catherine Kimmel and Mrs. Belle McGuire, of this city, and Mrs. Anna Charles, of Grampian. The funeral will take place Monday morning, with mass at St. Leo's church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. John's cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Saturday, March 1, 1919, page 14
