MRS. MARY M. CARLES

Who resided at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edna F. Baker of 214 Crawford 
Ave., died at 5:20 p.m. yesterday at the Altoona Hospital, where she was 
admitted Sept. 21 after an extended illness.  She was born June 18, 1870, at 
Hollidaysburg, a daughter of James and Elizabeth (Cronen) Hannigan.  She 
married Joseph E. Carles who died on Nov. 24, 1939.  Surviving are one son, 
Jesse L. of Pinecroft and one daughter, Mrs. Edna E. Baker, four 
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  
She was a member of the Second Ave. EUB Church and the WSWS of the church.  
Friends will be received at the Myers Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
