CAROLUS Retired employe of the Bell Telephone company, died this morning at 2.30 o'clock at his home, 320 South Second street, Bellwood, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. He was born in Mifflin county on June 4, 1876, a son of John and Susan Carolus. He had been an employe of the Bell Telephone company, starting at the age of 18 years, and retired from active work five years ago due to failing health. Mr. Carolus was a charter member of the I.O.O.F. lodge at Cresson and had been a resident of Bellwood for the past fifteen years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Carolus; one sister Sarah Gibbony of Tyrone, and three brothers, James of Sunbury, George of Lewistown and John of Barree. Friends may view the remains after 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home. CAROLUS - Funeral services for the late Wesley F. Carolus will be conducted at the home at 320 S. 2nd St., Bellwood, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Levi Goehring, pastor of the Olivet Baptist church, and Rev. W. A. Dysart. Interment will be made in the Cedar Grove cemetery at Petersburg. Friends may view the remains at the home Tuesday morning after 9 o'clock. Altoona Mirror, February 28, 1938
