CAROTHERS Mr. Carothers, 67, of 1810 12th Ave., Juniata, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 3, 1984, in Altoona Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at his home. Mr. Carothers retired as a electrician from Conrail in 1977, after 40 years' service. He was born March 12, 1913, in Bellwood, the son of Elmer and Mae (Brown) Carothers, and Feb. 12, 1941, in Juniata, married Madeline Stewart. Surviving are his wife, three children: Elaine Adams of Warriors Mark, William of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Vicki Pike of Duncansville, and five grandchildren. A son Wayne was killed in Vietnam in 1968. Also surviving is a brother, Willard of Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Carothers was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata. CAROTHERS - Services for Cecil E. Carothers of 1810 12th Ave., Juniata, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, by John Henry and Gary Stephen. Interment in Grandview Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral home.
