CHARLES E. CAROTHERS

Of 806 6th Ave., formerly of Bellwood, died at 1 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 
30, 1973, in Altoona Hospital, after an extended illness.  He was born 
Jan. 18, 1920, in Bellwood, a son of Gilbert and Mae (Brown) Carothers, 
and married Marie McCaulley on Oct. 7, 1939.  Surviving are his wife, 
six children, Kenneth of Buffalo N.Y., Mrs. Eleanor Pfahler, Edward, 
and Mrs. Lori Cotter of Altoona, Larry at home and Mrs. Janet Wertz of 
Eau Gallie, Fla.; nine grandchildren, and two brothers, Cecil of 
Altoona and Willard of Buffalo, N.Y.  Mr. Carothers was a member of the 
Church of the Brethren, Bellwood.  Friends will be received in the 
Johnson Funeral Home, Bellwood, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
