Carothers, 77, of 312 22nd Ave., died at 11:49 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 1987, at Altoona Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Carothers was a former employee of Mid-State Bank and Trust Co. She was born Feb. 1, 1909, in Altoona, the daughter of George Breen and Catherine Brannin and in November 1932, in Altoona, married Lewis Albert Carothers, who died Nov. 15, 1974. Surviving are four children: Donald A. of Venice, Fla., Terrence L. of Columbus, Ohio, and David L. and Kathy Ann of Altoona; eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Mrs. Carothers was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Amicus Class. She was also a member of the 500 Card Club of Altoona and a 1926 graduate of Altoona High School. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carn-Lynch Funeral Home. CAROTHERS - Services for Thelma E. Carothers of 312 22nd Ave. will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, by the Rev. A. Michael Singer. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the Carn-Lynch Funeral Home, Broad Avenue.
