Boy, Aged 7 Succumbs After a Brief Illness - Sister Very Ill - Coroner to Probe. Walter Ralph Carothers, aged 7, son of J. E. Carothers, 2511 Fifth street, died at 2:45 a.m. yesterday, at home, after an illness of twenty- four hours, due to unknown causes, and his sister Belva, aged 3, is in a critical condition. Deputy Coroner C. C. Rothrock will likely begin an investigation of the child's death today. The family physician is unable to determine what malady or complaint affected the boy, although a form of poisoning is believed to have been suffered by both children. Walter Ralph Carothers was born March 24, 1911, in this city, and attended the Martz school, Logan township. His parents, two brothers, Lewis, aged 8 years, and Kenneth, 8 months, survive, in addition to the sister. The child's grandfather is absent on a vacation and the funeral will be held at a time to be fixed after he has been communicated with.
