CAROTHERS Of 908 N. 5th St., Bellwood, died at 8:20 a.m. yesterday, May 5, 1972, in the VA Hospital where he was admitted earlier in the day. He was born in Bellwood, Oct. 15, 1918, a son of Gilbert and May (Brown) Carothers, and married Ruth McFarland on Dec. 23, 1939, in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are his wife and four children, Walter P. of Altoona, Mrs. Mary Hollen of Bellwood, James of Sinking Valley and Blair at home; three grandchildren and four brothers and sisters, Webster of Angola, N.Y.; Cecil of Juniata, Charles of Altoona, and Mrs. Elsie Partner of Bellwood. Mr. Carothers was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Bellwood, and a disabled veteran of World War II, serving in the Marines.
