All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN WESLEY CARPENTER John Wesley Carpenter, a well known Pennsy shopman, died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at the Grand Hotel, Sixth avenue and Second street, of heart trouble. He was employed as a blacksmith at the Fourth street shops for the last quarter century. He was born January 6th, 1850, at Loysburg, and wedding Miss Sarah McDonald forty years ago. She survives with these brothers, Harry Carpenter, Bedford; David, Adam and Joseph, of Roaring Spring, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Price, also of Roaring Spring. A step- daughter, Mrs. E. S. Henry of Bellwood, also survives. He was a member of the Fourth street Church of God, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Improved Order of Red Men and the Sons of Veterans. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the residence of W. J. Alloway, 228 East Fifth avenue. Burial in Greenwood cemetery.
