He was the son of Curtis J. and Deliliah (Bender) Carpenter and was born at New Enterprise on Aug. 14, 1861. He never married. Surviving is one brother, Adam Carpenter of Roaring Spring. He was a member of the Bare Memorial Church of God at Roaring Spring and the Patriotic Order Sons of America. He had been employed for some years by Mrs. Mabel Garver at Roaring Spring. Friends are being received at the Chester Reffner home at McKee. CARPENTER - Funeral services for Joseph Carpenter will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the home of Chester Reffner at McKee. Interment in the Greenlawn cemetery at Roaring Spring.
