MRS. SARAH JANE CARPENTER,

Wife of John W. Carpenter, deceased, died at the home of her granddaughter, 
Mrs. Walter Alloway of 314 Twenty-third avenue, at 7.15 o'clock last 
evening, death being caused by diseases incident to old age.  She was born 
in Bedford county, Jan. 1, 1842, and was married to John W. Carpenter July 
3, 1876.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E. S. Henry of Bellwood, 
eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 
held at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Alloway, Saturday afternoon at 
2.30 o'clock.  Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
