At the residence of her [sic] son, Mr. John P. Carroll, corner of Howard avenue and Third street, Mr. Edward Carroll died last night of diseases incident to old age, in his 88th year. He was a native of County Limerick, Ireland, but had resided at Huntingdon, Pa., for fifty years and in this city for the last ten years. He was married in Boston in 1848 to Miss Bridget Coffee, who died thirteen years ago in Huntingdon. Seven children survive him as follows: Mrs. Oliver Williams, Mrs. J. A. Ackers, Mrs. S. M. Swires and J. P. Carroll, all of this city; Thomas, of Baltimore, James L., of Harrisburg, and David P., of Pittsburg. Requiem mass will be celebrated in St. Mark's church on Monday at 8.30 a.m. Immediately after the church services the remains will be taken to Huntingdon on the 11 o'clock train.
