Death being caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Carroll, who was 85 years old, was born in Ireland and came to this country in 1866. After coming to this country, he spent the greater part of his life in this city. In 1868, he entered the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad company and continued with them for 38 years, being a forger in Altoona machine shops. He was retired from active service in 1906. He is survived by the following children: James Vincent Carroll and Mrs. Mary Carroll who made their home with him, J. W. Carroll and George S. Carroll, who also reside in this city. Eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church, St. Anthony's society and the Holy Name society. He was also a member of the relief. Funeral services will be conducted from the Mt. Carmel church on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. John's cemetery.
