All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ WILLIAM HENRY CARSON William Henry Carson, a well known resident of the city, died at his home 2930 Broad avenue, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning, of a complication of diseases. He had been an invalid for the past ten years and had been confined to his room for the last four years. Mr. Carson was born in Pittsburg, February 28, 1863, the son of Samuel and Nancy Carson, both deceased. He had been a resident of Altoona for many years, coming here as a young man. Learning his trade at the Altoona iron mills, he had been employed there as an iron worker almost continuously until he was taken ill. Mr. Carson was married November 12, 1889, to Miss Mary Houser, of this city, who survives with one daughter, Helen, and one son, John, both at home. He was a member of the Broad Avenue Presbyterian church, Logan lodge No. 490, Free and Accepted Masons; Mountain chapter No. 189, R.A.M.; Mountain council No. 9, R. and S.M.; Mountain commandery No. 10, K.T.; Jaffa temple, A.A.O.M.S., and the Royal Arcanum. Two brothers, George and Chester Carson, of Altoona, and Mrs. J. H. Brady, a sister, also of this city, survive. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon from the late residence.
