All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ CASKEY Arthur Fleming Caskey, whose little son Arthur, jr., was killed and his wife, Mrs. Florence Caskey, seriously injured in the automobile accident at New Portage Junction early in September, died at 3:50 o'clock yesterday morning of pneumonia at the home of his father-in- law, David Diehl, of 2709 Maple avenue. Mrs. Caskey was just brought to the home from Mercy hospital on Tuesday night to see her husband. Her condition today was rather serious as she has not yet recovered from the injuries received in the accident. Mr. Caskey was born in Philadelphia, Jan. 9, 1890, the son of William J. and Julia Caskey, his father being supervising principal of the M. Hall Stanton school in Philadelphia. He was an electrician in the car shops, having learned his trade in Cramps Shipyards in Philadelphia. His last service in the shipyards was installing the electrical equipment in the battleship Wyoming. His family were native Philadelphians. The young man was a member of the Holmesburg Presbyterian church and was also a member of Mountain lodge, No. 281, Free and Accepted Masons, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Cincinnatus lodge, No. 206, I.O.O.F. of Philadelphia and the Pennsy Relief association. He is survived by his wife, his parents, two sisters, Alice and Eleanor, two brothers, John at home and Sergeant Lawrence Caskey, a member of company C, 109th machine gun battalion. Funeral services will be held at the house at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon followed by interment in Carson Valley cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, November 8, 1918
