City Insurance Agent Deceased

  A. Boyd Cassidy, 87, of 2814 Broad Ave., an insurance agent, died at 
5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 1979, in his home, after an extended 
illness.
  Mr. Cassidy retired from the A. Boyd Cassidy Insurance Co. in 1967, 
after 43 years' service.
  He was born Sept. 17, 1892, in Altoona, the son of Charles H. and 
Laura M. (Haas) Cassidy, and Oct. 17, 1917, in Altoona, married Sara 
Hamilton, who died July 15, 1958.
  Surviving are a son, A. Boyd Jr. of Brownsmills, N.J., and three 
brothers and a sister, C. Ralph of Carson Valley, Arthur B. of Altoona, 
Mrs. Dorothy Simpson of Princeton, N.J., and Robert W. of Bryn Mawr. A 
sister, Mrs. Edna Mays, died Oct. 22, 1979.
  Mr. Cassidy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Juniata 
Lodge 282, F&AM; Altoona Scottish Rite Bodies, Jaffa Shrine, Jaffa 
Jesters and Heidelberg Country Club. He was a former member of the 
Altoona Lions Club and Johnstown Hunt Club.
  He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the 
Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home.

CASSIDY - Services for A. Boyd Cassidy of 2814 Broad Ave. will be held 
at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home, by the 
Rev. Robert A. Bayley. Interment in Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be 
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
