He was born March 17, 1861, at Newry, a son of William and Emma (Shaw) Cassidy. His wife, Mrs. Mary (Smith) Cassidy, died some years ago. Surviving are six children, Ira S. of Williamsburg, Mrs. Anna Dell of Greenwood, James H., Martin B., Mrs. Martha Dumm and George D. Cassidy, all of the city, nineteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers, Charles H. and Peter Shunk Cassidy, Mrs. Lucy Fortenbaugh, Mrs. Nellie Stephens and W. Blair Cassidy, all of the city. Mr. Cassidy was a member of the Broad Avenue Methodist church and of Chicalacamoose tribe No. 364, I.O.R.M. Funeral services will be held at the home of Martin B. Cassidy, 2908 Sixth avenue, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with Rev. Perry Miller, pastor of the Broad Avenue Methodist church officiating. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
