JOHN NELSON CASSIDY

Of 1009 S. Kettle St., died at noon yesterday in the Altoona Hospital, where he 
was admitted last Saturday, after an extended illness.  He was born in Patton 
Feb. 14, 1908, a son of Wilfred and Ruth Anna (Snyder) Cassidy, and married 
Dorothy M. Sharpless in Cumberland, Md., June 20, 1922.  Surviving are his wife, 
a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Cherry of the city; two granddaughters, and three 
sisters and a brother, Mrs. James Cummings, Mrs. Grace Chantis and Mrs. Irene 
Cornelius of Altoona, and Wilfred of Bellefonte.  Mr. Cassidy was a member of 
the Second Presbyterian Church, a barber by trade and proprietor of the Sixth 
Ward shop at Eighth Avenue and Nineteenth Street for many years.  Friends will 
be received in the Laughlin-Carn Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
tomorrow.
