CAWLEY Of 2311 Maple avenue, died suddenly at 10.15 o'clock yesterday morning just after returning to his home from mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church. He was stricken on the porch of his home. He was born on Jan. 6, 1867, in St. Augustine, a son of Dennis and Bridget (Murray) Cawley. On Nov. 1, 1932, Mr. Cawley retired as a freight engineer on the Pittsburgh division after a service of forty years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie (McDermitt) Cawley; one son and one daughter, Leo, at home, and Mrs. H. C. Gates of the city, and three grandchildren. Mr. Cawley was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church. The body may be viewed at the home. Altoona Mirror, January 24, 1938
