Chandler died at the home of his son-in-law, James C. McConahy, 312 West Fifteenth street, yesterday afternoon at 12.30 o'clock, after a few hours of illness of apoplexy. The deceased was born in Newport, Maine, July 20, 1830, and at death was aged 69 years 4 months and 21 days. He was a stationary engineer, but had not followed his occupation for many years on account of heart trouble. He has been a resident of Tyrone for the past two years. He is survived by his wife and the following sons and daughters, viz: George E. Chandler, Philipsburg; Mrs. C. N. Shaver, of Harrisburg; Charles A. Chandler, of Carlisle; Jesse W. Chandler, in the west; Mrs. J. C. McConahy and Miss Ira R. Chandler, of Tyrone. One sister and two brothers also survive, viz: Mrs. William Miller, of Boston; Alonzo Chandler, of Newport, Maine, and Jeese [sic] Chandler, of California.
