He was a locomotive engineer on the Middle division of the Pennsy and a son of George and Adelia Chaplin, who came to the United States from Canada, residing in Janesville, Clearfield county. He was born in Janesville May 27, 1878, and was a resident of this city for more than eighteen years. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: William J., of Billings, Mont., J. B., of West Virginia, F. J. of Houtzdale, Pa., Mrs. W. E. Smeal, Mrs. William H. Smith and Mrs. J. A. McCracken, who resides at 126 Crawford avenue. The body arrived in this city last evening and was removed to the home of his sister, Mrs. J. A. McCracken. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., May 22, 1919 FUNERAL NOTICE. The funeral of the late Augustine Byron Chaplin will be held tomorrow morning, the cortege leaving the home of his sister, Mrs. J. A. McCracken of 126 Crawford avenue for St. Mark's Catholic church, where mass of requiem will be said at 9.30 o'clock. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery.
