CHASE, The aged man who was struck in the yard at Ninth street yesterday morning, died last night at 10:45 o'clock, at the hospital. He never regained consciousness from the time of the accident. Had Mr. Chase been a younger man it is possible that he might have recovered, but being a man of 65 years, he could not withstand the shock. He came to Altoona in 1878, and has worked for the railroad company ever since. He was a member of Post 468, G.A.R., and also of the Red Men. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2, in the Chestnut Avenue M.E. church, of which he was a member. Altoona Mirror, December 8, 1898
