He was born March 11, 1864, in Antis Township, the son of John E. and Rachel (McCaulley) Cherry. His wife preceded him in death, November 3, 1941. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Walter, Harvey, John of Tipton; Charles of Akron; Joseph of Altoona; Edwin and Howard of Grazierville; Arthur of Columbia; Mrs. Pearl Dean and Mrs. Harvey Oyler of Altoona; Mrs. Louis Henchey of Bellwood. Thirty-eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: David and George Cherry of Tipton and William Cherry, of Altoona, R.D.3; Mrs. Catharine Craine of Marietta, and Mrs. Clair Johnson of Tipton. He was a member of the Riggle's Gap Church of Brethren. Friends will be received at his home in Tipton after 7 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be held at the home in Tipton on Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. P. R. Bratton, pastor of the Riggles Gap Church of The Brethren.
