Mrs. Elizabeth Cherry died suddenly Thursday night at her residence, No. 1217 Ninth street. The deceased appeared in her usual health on Thursday evening and the discovery that she was dead was not made until yesterday morning when she was discovered in her room by some of her relatives. Death was the result of apoplexy. Mrs. Cherry was aged 77 years and 7 months. She was the widow of Mr. Andrew Cherry, who departed this life about nine years ago, dying suddenly while in Randolph's drug store. Mrs. Cherry was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a thorough Christian woman. She leaves five children, these being Mrs. Amanda Evans, of Houtzdale; John A. Cherry, S. C. Cherry, Leah, wife of James Barger, and Clara, wife of Thomas Morris, all of this city. The funeral will be held at the house and will be conducted by Rev. W. Bain.
