Cherry Passes Away at His Home in This City, and His Brother James, a Former Resident, in Pittsburg. Yesterday afternoon between 3 and 4 o'clock, Mr. John W. Cherry died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. J. S. Leisenring, 1200 Fourteenth avenue, after a long illness. The funeral will be private and the interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Mr. Cherry was born September 22, 1832, in Antis township, Huntingdon, now Blair county, and was consequently aged 67 years, 3 months and 11 days. Either in the township named or in this city he had lived all his life. By trade he was a cabinet maker. He was an unassuming citizen, a good husband and father. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. S. Leisenring and Mrs. H. L. Hartzell, and three sons, Dr. E. T. Cherry, Oscar Cherry, an employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, all of Altoona, and Dr. J. Roy Cherry, of Williamsport.
