Cherry, 92, of Frederick St. Ext., P.O. Box 173, Tipton, died Sunday morning Oct. 1, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus. She was born Nov. 14, 1913 at Fostoria, Antis Township, the daughter of John W. and Eva Mae (Walker) Walters. She was married May 15, 1929 at Winchester, VA to George Raymond Cherry who died Nov. 29, 1994. She is survived by three daughters: Janet M. Grove and husband Melvin of Bellwood, Judy K. Heaton and husband Dallas of Sinking Valley and Lee Ann Miller and husband Samuel of Tipton; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-greatgranddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond V. Cherry, a step- daughter Irene Irwin and four brothers Daniel, Alton V., Clair and Norman. She was a member of the Logan Valley Baptist Church and had attended the Warriors Mark Bible Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and her family. Funeral services will be held Wed., Oct. 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Steven E. Burns officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
