Howard Claar, aged 31 years, a resident of Sproul, died late Thursday night at his home at that place, death being caused by pneumonia, which developed from influenza from which he suffered but fifteen hours. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Claar, both deceased, and was twice married. His first wife having died some years ago. He is survived by his second wife and one son, at home and by three brothers, William of Pavia, Bedford county; John of Imler and Emory of Sproul, and by three sisters: Mrs. William Stiffler and Misses Minnie and Juniata at home.
