ROBERT SMITH CLOSSON 

Of 2001 Twelfth avenue, died at the Altoona Veterans Administration hospital 
at 5.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an extended illness. He was born in 
Altoona Oct. 29, 1926, a son of Charles M. and Sara (Oberly) Clawson, and 
married the former Miss Virginia Capute of Patton. Mr. Closson was employed 
by the Altoona Rayon Weaving mill and was a veteran of World war II, having 
served as a seaman first class aboard the U. S. S. Tuscaloosa. Surviving are 
his wife, two sons, John and Randall, at the home; his parents, two brothers 
and two sisters, Charles D., Melvin and Mrs. Louise Brannen of the city and 
Mrs. June Tucker of Tampa, Fla. Friends will be received at the Laughlin 
funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
