A brief dispatch came over the wires yesterday announcing the death of Rev. J. W. Colburn, at Lewisburg. Mr. Colburn was the pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at Williamsburg a few years ago. He afterwards became a resident of this community, and was a member of Mount Moriah chapter No. 166, Free and Accepted Masons. His excellent family posses a large circle of warm friends here whose sympathy they have for this sad demise of their loved husband and father. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, April 13, 1891 Death of Rev. N. W. Colburn. Rev. N. W. Colburn, died at Lewisburg, Saturday last. The deceased was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal church, and a brother of Rev. R. H. Colburn, of the Fifth avenue church, Altoona. He leaves a wife and several children. He had been in delicate health since he was stationed in Williamsburg, which was in the year 1888. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the First Methodist Episcopal church, Lewisburg, and the sermon will be preached by Rev. D. S. Monroe, D.D., of this city. Rev. Colburn's appointments were as follows: Mifflin, 1853; Caledonia, 1854; Clinton (three months and New Washington nine months), 1855; Sunbury, 1856; Bloomsburg, 1857; Bald Eagle, 1858-9; Laporte, 1860; (this latter appointment was by change of boundary taken into East Genesee conference). He was transferred back and in 1861-2 was stationed at Schellsburg; 1864-5, Woodbury; 1865-6, Mifflinburg, 1867- 8, Montoursville; 1869, Mifflinburg; 1870-2, Conyngham; 1873-5, Snydertown; 1876-8, Mount Carmel; 1979-81, Newport; 1882, Weatherly; 1883-4, Stewartstown; 1885-7, Sinnemahoning; 1888, Williamsburg. He took the supernumerary relation in 1889. Rev. Colburn was born in England in the year 1829, and was converted at the age of 18 years, and was admitted in full connection to the Baltimore conference in 1854.
