CITY AND COUNTRY BRIEFS.

  James Alvin, aged 6 years and 4 months, the interesting son of Mr. and Mrs. 
J. B. Cole, died at the residence of the parents, No. 1218 Fifth avenue, at 
ten minutes of 12 o'clock Friday night.  The cause of death was membraneous 
croup.
