On Saturday evening at 6.15 o'clock William C. Cole, son of Thomas W. and Frances E. Cole, died of meningitis at the residence of his parents, 1004 Eighth avenue. He had been sick for five weeks, and as is generally the case with those afflicted with the disease he had, he suffered intensely. The deceased was born June 15, 1880, in this city. He was educated in the public schools and entered the high school in 1897. Last year he entered the employ of the Edison Electric Light company and continued at his work until the time of his illness. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Sunday school, and was a young man of much promise. He enjoyed the friendship of a wide circle of young associates. Besides his mother and father he is survived by the following brothers: Frank, Edgar, James, Frederick and Wrightson, and one sister, Hilda, all at home. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the house by Rev. S. D. Daugherty, assisted by Rev. J. F. Hartman, D.D. The remains will be buried in Fairview cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, July 10, 1899
