He was born at Eckhart, Maryland, June 12, 1864, the son of John and Eva (Walker) Collins. He formerly was engaged for 38 years in the mercantile business in Myersdale, where he was a partner in the firm of Miller and Collins. Mr. Collins retired 11 years ago and had been a resident of Altoona since that time. Mr. Collins was married to the former Susan Kalbaugh, who survives with four daughters: Mrs. Hugh McFarland of Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. Frank Klare Miller and Lenore Collins both of Altoona, and Mrs. Edward V. Wieneke of Baltimore; two sons: George Walker Collins Jr. and Johnson DeWitt Collins both of Baltimore; one sister, Mrs. Homer Hartley of Beaver; 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. One son, Dr. Homer G. Collins, died July 5, 1924. He was a member of the Llyswen Methodist Church and Myersdale Lodge 554, F. and A.M. Mr. Collins was the oldest past member of that lodge and had been a member for 63 years. He was also a charter member of the Rotary club at Myersdale. Friends may call at the Lafferty Funeral Home after 7 o'clock this evening. COLLINS - Funeral services for George Walker Collins 105-A Coleridge Avenue, will be held at the John P. Lafferty Funeral Home, Thursday evening at 8 o'clock in charge of Rev. Oliver H. R. Krapf. Interment in Union cemetery, Myersdale, Friday morning. Friends may call at the John P.
