Harry Colt, one of the town's best known citizens, passed away at his home, 1332 Bald Eagle avenue, at 12:55 o'clock yesterday afternoon, death being due to a complication of diseases from which he had suffered for some time past. Harry Colt was a son of the late Robert and Laura Colt and was born at Marietta, Pa., January 14, 1858. When a lad of 13 years he came to Tyrone, where he had since resided. In 1883 he was united in marriage with Miss Tillie Carl, who survives with the following children to mourn the death of this loving husband and father: Mrs. Frank Patton, of Johnstown; John and Bessie, of Tyrone. He is also survived by the following sisters: Mrs. J. P. Stroup, of Florence, Col.; Mrs. Carrie Ohler, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. W. H. Holsberg, of Lebanon. Mr. Colt was the possessor of a sunny disposition which made him a friend of all. For many years he was employed at the West Virginia Pulp and Paper mill. In politics he was a staunch Republican and for some time represented the Fourth ward as a committeeman. He was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and when enjoying good health was numbered among the regular attendants. He was also a charter member of Good Will Council No. 42, Junior Order United American Mechanics. Funeral services will be held at the late home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. S. Fasick, D.D., pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church. Interment in Grand View cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Friday morning, June 7, 1918, page 7
