He was born at Chest Springs, Cambria county, on Jan. 27, 1889, a son of John and Jennie (Weakland) Conrad, and had been employed as a car builder by the Pennsylvania Railroad company for twenty-seven years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret (Weakland) Conrad; ten sons and daughters, Robert, Thomas and Earl, all of the city, Mrs. Pauline McIntyre of Milwaukee, Wis., Pearl, Rita, Tressa, William, Betty and Richard, all of the city; six grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, Paul Conrad of Chest Springs, Walter of Ashville, Mrs. Nellie Osman of Turtle Creek, Mrs. Margaret Yohner of McKees Rocks, Mrs. Jennie Hallihan of Altoona and Mrs. May Storm of Chest Springs. Mr. Conrad was a member of St. Leo's Catholic church, the Holy Name society and Knights of St. George. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. CONRAD - The funeral of Anthony Thomas Conrad of 1917 Fourteenth avenue will be held with requiem mass at St. Leo's church on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. Monica's cemetery at Chest Spring. Friends are being received at the family home at any time. Altoona Mirror, Thursday, January 30, 1941
