All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Altoona Tribune February 25, 1935 FUNERAL FOR CRASH VICTIM THIS MORNING GEORGE CONRAD, 32, Ganister resident, who died at Mercy Hospital Friday afternoon as a result of injuries suffered in an auto crash just east of Geeseytown Thursday, is survived by his wife, five children and his aged father. He died at the local hospital Friday before fully regaining consciousness. He seemed semi-conscious at periods on Friday but his condition was critical from the time of admission. His wife was with him at death. Tony Marmilvich, also of Ganister and occupant of the Conrad truck is still a patient in Mercy Hospital but his condition is reported as good. Funeral service for George Conrad will be held this morning at 9 o'clock in the Ganister Greek Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was born at Ganister, March 17, 1902, son of Joseph and Mary Conrad and was proprietor of a Ganister grocery store for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary (Martin) Conrad; five children, Helen, Mary, Aleck, George, Jr., and John all at home; his father and the following brothers and sister; John, Joseph and Andrew all of Chicago, Mrs. Mary Fitzingo and Michael Conrad of Ganister.
