Conrad, for many years a resident of the Fifth Ward, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank A. Hileman, 2720 West Chestnut Avenue, quite suddenly at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. He was in his usual good health on Saturday, had visited his daughter, Mrs. Edward Vogt, on the East Side of the city during the afternoon, and in the evening had conversed with numerous friends on the way home. About 4 o'clock yesterday morning, he was taken ill and passed away at the hour named above. Death was due to apoplexy. Deceased was born at Ashville, Cambria County, January 27, 1841 and had he lived until that date this month would have been aged 79 years. He came to this city many years ago and after a short time engaged in the coal business with an office on Union Avenue. He retired some years ago and during the Hoyer administration served as a driver of the patrol wagon. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed the respect and esteem of a wide circle of friends. His wife preceded him to the grave some years ago and he is survived by these children; Mrs. Frank A. Hileman, with whom he resided; Mrs. Edward Vogt of this city, and Mrs. Paul Murphy of Erie. The funeral will leave his late home at 9:15 o'clock Wednesday morning and proceed to Sacred Heart Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. John's Cemetery.
