The deceased was born near Newry, Blair County, 40 years ago. He had resided in the city for a number of years and was employed in the Pennsylvania Railroad Telegraph Shop, being a skilled and experienced brass finisher. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the choir until a year ago; since then he sang at St. John's. He was also a member of the Concordia Singing Society and the Young Men's Institute. He was well known and esteemed by a large circle of friends. He was married September 23, 1883 to Miss Katie Hawk, who survived him with seven children; Leo, Edith, Gerald, Roy, Glenn, Catherine and Marion and one sister; Mrs. Margaret Newton of New York and these half sisters and brothers; Mrs. Lizzie Spieres, Mrs. Thomas Ratchford, Miss Laura Campbell and Mr. Warren Campbell. The funeral will take place Tuesday morning. Service to be conducted at Sacred Heart Church at 9 o'clock. Interment in St. John's.
