All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOSEPH CORBIN Joseph Corbin, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of our town, died at his home on Blair street on Thursday night at 11 o'clock, after a long illness; aged 76 years. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was a private in Company B, 1st Battalion, 12th regiment, of the United States Infantry. His whole life was spent in Hollidaysburg, he residing nearly all that time in the little house on Blair street. He was a good citizen and his quiet and unassuming manner endeared him to all his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Baptist church of this place. His wife preceded him to the grave several years ago. Mr. Corbin is not survived by any children and is the last of his family. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of John Ecker on Blair street. Interment will be made in Green Lawn cemetery and he will be laid to rest in a plot beside two former neighbors and soldier friends, William Ecker and Lewis Clark.
