MRS. ESTHER JANE (SMITH) COSTLOW,

Wife of George Peter Costlow, died at 11.40 o'clock Saturday night at 
her home along the Catfish road, death resulting from a complication of 
diseases. Deceased was born Sept. 5, 1850, in Freedom township, a 
daughter of Samuel and Mary Magdelene Smith, both deceased. She was 
married to Mr. Costlow on Dec. 31, 1869. She had resided in Newry for 
thirty-eight years. Surviving are the husband and one daughter, Mrs. 
Frank Gonsman, of Newry, and the following brothers and sisters:  Frank 
Smith of Duncansville, William Smith of Freedom township, Mrs. Rebecca 
Wilt of Duncansville and Miss Sarah Smith of Freedom township. She was 
a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church in Newry and the funeral will 
be held there at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment will be made in 
the church cemetery.
