ELIZABETH COWEN, Widow of David Cowen, died at the home of her daughters, Annie Cowen and Mrs. Mary Baker, on the Cowen homestead, one mile south of Roaring Spring, at 1 o'clock on December 24, after a lingering illness of a year or more. She was a kind and pious Christian mother, who always delighted in doing a generous act. She was the mother of Albert F. Cowen, Elias C. Cowen, Mrs. Mary Baker and Annie Cowen, who reside near Roaring Spring; Rev. George L. Cowen, D.D., of California, and Dr. Edward D. Cowen, of South Dakota. The funeral took place at 10 o'clock this morning from her late residence, services being conducted by Rev. C. H. Grove. Interment was made in Greenlawn cemetery.
